Wong gets No. 1 position on ALP ticket

South Australian Parliamentary Secretary Don Farrell has given up his number one spot on Labor’s Senate ticket, in favour of Finance Minister Penny Wong.

Senator Farrell says he is happy vacating his seat, despite being elected to the number one position on the ALP’s ticket for next year’s federal election, by the party on the weekend.

But there has been some backlash in the party with Labor back bencher Nick Champion saying it was a democratic decision to put Senator Farrell at the top of the ticket.
