Vic bushfire out of control at Mt Hotham

Extra fire crews have been brought in to battle a large bushfire burning out of control in Victoria’s Alpine region.

An emergency alert has been issued, with concerns it is threatening properties near Mt Hotham, and firefighters have continued battling the blaze through the night.

Residents of Mt Hotham were told last night it was too late to leave after, the fire broke containment lines.

The fire is also threatening the Mt Hotham ski resort, and staff have used snow machines to protect infrastructure.
