Thomson charged and granted bail

Former National Secretary of the Health Services Union and Labor PM Craig Thomson has been formally charged with 154 counts of fraud in a Melbourne Court this morning.

The now Independent MP has been granted bail, until he appears in court again on May 22.

The member for Dobell was arrested last week at his Central coast home, at the request of the Victorian Fraud squad and was told he would face 149 charges of fraud.

But this morning he has been charged with an extra 5 charges relating to fraud.
