Search continues for missing NZ rockclimbers

A search and rescue mission is continuing in New Zealand this morning for three people missing in rough seas off the North Island, after a rock climbing accident yesterday.

Police say the missing were part of a 13 member group from a local high school, and were climbing Paritutu Rock when three students fell into the water.

One student managed to cling onto rocks and has been rescued, but it’s believed their instructor dove into the water to help the others.

The 40 year old instructor and two 17 year olds are still missing, and an air sea and shoreline search has been launched.
