School cleaner to be charged with murder of Leeton teacher Stephanie Scott

A 24-year old man is in police custody and will be charged with the murder of NSW teacher Stephanie Scott.

The 26-year-old teacher from Leeton has been missing since Easter Sunday and was due to get married on Saturday.

Police have confirmed the man is the cleaner at Ms Scott’s workplace, Leeton High School.

She was reported missing on Monday and her family and fiance described her disappearance as “out of character”.

The man was arrested yesterday, after he arrived at a home on Maiden Avenue in Leeton where officers had been speaking to two residents.

He is expected to appear before Griffith Local Court later today charged with Ms Scott’s murder.

Police still have not located Ms Scott and are appealing to the public for information about her disappearance.
