Remote and Regional schools to benefit from Gonski

Education Minister Peter Garret is expected to announce today, regional and remote schools will get about $6 billion of the new money on offer, under Labor’s Gonski funding plan.

New details about the location and size of funding loadings will be released by Mr Garrett today.

So far NSW is the only state to sign up to the model, which the Federal government has committed $14.5 billion to over six years.

Students in regional and remote schools are expected to attract $10,200 dollars each, over six years, under the new loading.
