Oberon woman charged with 3.y.o boy’s murder

A 40-year-old woman has now been charged with murder, over the death of a toddler in central-west New South Wales.

Emergency services were called to the Oberon home on August 3, where they found the three-year-old boy unconscious and not breathing.

He was flow to the Westmead Children’s Hospital in a critical condition, and died three days later.

Chifley Area Police Commander Superintendent Mick Robinson says it has been an intensive investigation.

Police have been investigating reports from the boy’s family, they he was knocked over at a grass oval by two large dogs.

A 40-year-old Oberon woman was arrested last night and has been charged with murder.

“Strike Force Aldyth was actually led by detectives from this command and it was detectives from this command who made the arrest last night,” Superintendent Robinson said.

The woman has fronted Blayney Local Court today, and has been remanded in custody.
