NT police arrest second man over Navy theft

Northern Territory police have confirmed a second man has been arrested over the break in of a Darwin Navy base, who is a serving member of the Navy.

14 weapons were stolen from HMAS Coonawarra on November 30 by an intruder dressed in military uniform, and one man was arrested the next day.

Commander Richard Bryson has confirmed today a 26 year old man, who is a current leading seaman of the Royal Australian Navy, has been arrested and charged with Aggravated Robbery, and two counts of Possessing a Prohibited Firearm.

But he says the investigation is continuing, and they are expecting to make further arrests in coming days.
