G8 to discuss Syria and North Korea




G8 foreign ministers will meet tonight in London, where Britain will press its case to help the Syrian opposition against President Bashar AlAssad and end the two-year long civil war.

France and Britain are both expected to once again, press the case for amending, or lifting an arms embargo on Syria, to support the outgunned rebels.

The group is also expected to respond to threats from North Korea, as the country has warned of an imminent conflict with its southern neighbour.

Foreign ministers also plan to discuss Burma, Somalia,cybersecurity and the issue of preventing sexual violence in warzones.
