Eight bikie gang members arrested in Victoria

Victorian police have arrested three members of the Hells Angel bikie gang, and five Commancheros, over a recent spate of shootings in Melbourne’s south east.

Police have raided homes and club houses of the two bikie clubs, seizing firearms, cash, drugs and explosives.

Acting Assistant Commissioner Tess Walsh says police are investigating whether any of the guns seized are linked to a series of shootings between the rival clubs in recent days.

She says the men are facing a number of charges, including the possesions of drugs, firearms and explosives, as well as assult, extortion, blackmail and proceeds of crime.

Investigations will continue over the coming days, and police say they cannot rule out more arrests.
