Colorado shooter charged

The former graduate student, accused of shooting people in Colorado at the screening of the latest Batman film, has been formally charged overnight,  with 24 counts of firstdegree murder and 116 counts of attempted murder.

24-year-old James Holmes was charged during his second court appearance, since his arrest shortly after midnight on July 20.

The rampage left 12 people dead and 58 injured, including several who remain in a critical condition.
