Boat of asylum seekers reach WA

A boat of more than 60 asylum seekers has arrived in Geraldton, in Western Australia’s south.

The vessel was spotted just after midday local time and is currently in the harbour, however it’s unsure how the boat made it so far south, without being detected.

Opposition Immigration spokesman Scott Morrison says this arrival is evidence the government has failed to implement a bipartisan asylum seeker policy.
