Abbott puts Labor ahead of Greens

Opposition Leader Tony Abbott has called on the Labor party to preference the Coalition ahead of the Greens, in order to avoid a minority government.

Mr Abbott has announced today the Coalition will list Labor above the Greens in every Lower House seat at the election.

The move means the party may struggle to gain seats and even lose the seat of Melbourne which Adam Bandt holds.

Mr Abbott says he will not lead a minority government.
