Abbott meets with Indonesidan Presidnet to discuss asylum seekers

Opposition Leader Tony Abbott and three other Coalition front benchers are in Jakarta for talks with Indonesian President Susilo Bangbang Yudhoyono, on the Opposition’s asylum seeker policy.

It comes after Mr Abbott was criticised for failing to address the issue in July, when he met with Dr Yudhoyono in Darwin.

According to News Limited, Mr Abbott is expected to announce the Coalition will “workshop” with Indonesia on all asylum seeker policies, if they win the next election.

At least 525 asylum seekers arrived in  Australia over the weekend, as refugees on Christmas Island and Nauru protested against being detained.
