Oberon Council Protect Their Territory

The Mayor of Oberon, John McMahon, has pushed for a zoning plan to protect the towns rate payers and a possible Bathurst Council take-over.

Trying to remain viable, Oberon have come up with their own boundary adjustments, taking in smaller villages, such as, Rockley and Tarana.

McMahon has stated that their shire could look after these towns, a lot better than how they are currently.

Ten years ago, the Bathurst council took the town of Evenshire, which has motivated them to do the same to Lithgow and Oberon.

When the Review Panel release their draft next month, the vulnerable councils will have a much better idea of where they stand.
