Nuclear dump protestors honour fifth year anniversary of sister city devastation

Five years ago this week the residents of Bathurst’s sister city in Japan, Ohkuma, were still feeling earthquake aftershocks following the devastating quake that claimed 22 000 lives and led to the evacuation of the city after radiation leaks from a nearby nuclear power plant. As GEORGIA HOLLAND reports, the anniversary has been remembered by Bathurst residents opposing plans for a nuclear waste dump near Hill End.
