Bathurst Labor candidate meets with PM

Federal Labor Candidate for Calare Jess Jennings took the opportunity on Sunday to meet Prime Minister Julia Gillard while she was on her tour of the Western Suburbs.

At the meeting Mr Jennings spoke of the cultural and heritage importance of the Bathurst Town Square Precinct and he felt that it had been overlooked by the Federal Government in regards to funding for future development.

Councillor Jennings says this is a matter of national Interest and being able to meet and talk with Ms Gillard personally was a great step towards gaining recognition in the future.
