Urge for groups to apply for funding to improve mental health in the bush

  • Mental health in rural, regional and remote communities are gaining more support and recognition by the establishment of a new grant program giving help to those in need.

Earlier this month, the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal (FRRR) announced it had launched its ‘In a Good Place’ grants program.

The program is open to applicants nationally with grants of up to $20,000 offered from an annual pool of $200,000.

Successful applications will receive support for community-driven initiatives which reduce social isolation, increase social participation, and increase awareness for people in rural, remote and regional communities who are or may experience mental health issues.

Applications close on August 20, with details to be found on the FRRR website.
